You finally go back to your ward after 10 weeks and THIS happens.

Remember my pity party? Remember when I was called to be an early morning seminary teacher? Remember how my mom gave me permission to hate my life? Today, I guess I can love my life again because I was released. I’ll be honest, all the pity was for nothing. It was the easiest hardest calling I’ve ever had. Mostly because I didn’t have to do it. Not once. There are no youth. Sucks for our ward but kind of a nice problem for me.

I received a new calling: Gospel Essentials teacher. What our ward lacks in YM/YW we make up for in new members and investigators. And it’s just me. Teaching them. Every week.

Anderson’s reaction to nursery is pretty much how I feel about my new calling:

Just kidding. I’m actually feeling pumped about this calling. Partly because it means I miraculously escaped the other one and partly for all the right reasons.

And Anderson did great in nursery.

I love that picture!! Priceless. I'm excited about your calling. I think you will do great. We were asked to attend that call last year and I really enjoyed it. Also, love and want fishnets.

Yay for the end of your easiest/worst calling ever!!! Drew is Gospel Essentials teacher and I go in w/ him every week. Good luck!

Hooray for not having to teach seminary!! I'm SO happy for you. Seminary was one of the hardest things I've ever done. And would have been 10 times harder if I had a young child while I was teaching.

You will be great at Gospel Essentials! Sounds more fun than going to Gospel Doctrine every week... :)

I taught Gospel Essentials for 2 years and LOVED it. We lived in a ward with lot of converts and it's wonderful to watch them eat it up. Best part: you don't need to get fancy with teaching (like some people in G.D. do), just stick to the scriptures!
PS. I found that investigators were often shy and didn't comment very much, and sometimes the lesson material is short, so a lot of times I supplemented it with recent Conference talks on the same subject. Not only did it give me extra material, but it helped investigators/new members get familiar with the general Authorities.

Seriously love that pic of Anderson.

I taught Gospel Essentials in London...do you remember this? Loved it! It really is a great calling. Yea for you.

Love the updates on the sidebars. Fun new pics. And I too am loving the old school trick or treat bucket..I even scored mine at a yard sale a couple months ago for 25 cents. Not to one up you or anything ;)
Also, we could use some new church toys...I must check out that Magnadoodle.

Oh man, he is adorable! Will you please come visit us? I mean it. It isn't a far drive. We would REALLY love it. Think about it...okay?

Okay, I thought the magnadoodle would be perfect for church... When you push down really hard and scribble back and forth really fast, (which is exactly what my kids do to it) that thing is soooo loud! Maybe it's just the kind I had that created that loud sound. Not to mention the sound it makes as you struggle to take it away from them and it repeatedly hits the pews, etc. Anyway, hopefully my kids aren't the only ones to do this to a magnadoodle... :)
